The Montgo Golf Society was formed in March 2009

by a group of players who had previously been

members of other golf societies in the Costa Blanca

but now felt the need to form a new society with purely golfing priorities. The name Montgo is taken from the landmark mountain (also known as the "Elephant's Head") situated between Javea and Denia and around which many of us live.

Membership of the Society was by invitation only until December 2009 but we  feel that we now have a sufficient hardcore of regular players to ensure the viability of Montgo Golf Society, that we can open up our membership. Accordingly we are happy to receive applications for this from players, some of whom may not necessarily be resident in Spain for the whole year lthough we do look to all members to play a minimum of five games during a calendar year. We do not have any rules as such other than pure golfing related ones and the Founder Members make all the decisions in consultation with our members. Those applying might like to read our original "Invitation" letter which sets out the Founders views on how the Society operates. All applications will be considered on their merits and we will require them to have an EGA or CONGU established handicap for men of not more than 24 and for ladies, not more than 30. Applicants will be required to play one or more games with the Society as guests prior to their application being accepted.

The Society play games every week on Fridays alternating between Oliva Nova and other courses in the Costa Blanca.
